"Photography is the only language that can be understood anywhere in the world."

                                        Welcome to Mad Kat Photography

Why choose Mad Kat Photography?

Portrait photography is a passion of mine. I love nothing more than showcasing you and your beautiful family in classic, timeless images as well as some that are a bit unique and whimsical. I have been a professional portrait artist for over 5 years and have had my business running in three countries. I have worked closely with military families, as well as the civilian sector. I am a 100% all inclusive photographer, this means that I  take care of you from beginning to end. From our first sit down pre consultation to delivery of your prints. I believe photographs capture moments in time that are otherwise forgotten, I believe that photography is an art and it should be treated  as such, I believe in creating lasting moments in prints so that your children will have something tangible to hold on to, I believe in what I do.

Why do we need to do a pre-consult meeting?

A pre consultation meeting is important because it is the first opportunity for us to meet. In order for you to trust your photographer with your memories than you should feel comfortable with that person. A sit down meeting enables us to do just that. We will go over products, what your session will be like, dates, times and locations, as well as going over my contract and any other questions that you may have.

Why do you offer prints and products and not a disc?

I started off as a shoot & burn photographer many years ago, while I was still trying to learn the "business". I have found out, that many of those clients that I gave a disc to, still have said disc in their desk drawer and nothing was ever printed. This got me thinking, "Why, am I a photographer?" The reason is, I have so many images from my childhood that I wouldn't have if my parents never took photos. I cherish those photos so much now that I started to realize all my photos were on hard drives, disc and USB's. Sure, I had some printed out and of course we have their school portraits but it was the professional family photos we had done that is printed and hanging on our walls that give me the most joy. "The most photographed generation in history, will have no prints to show for" M. Mwac- this is so true. With technology constantly changing, why, would you trust your images to a piece of technology? Why not have something tangible that you can look at and pass down?

What can I expect from my session?

Your session will run roughly one hour long, depending on the type of session. We will meet at location that we agreed to and I will start warming you up by taking a few candid shots, this helps me set my settings to the natural light as well as get you use to me photographing you. I find that this is really helpful for children. I will run you through some timeless poses and than start doing some more fun, whimsical ones. This way you get a variety of shots to choose from. After our session wraps, I will start editing and in about 2-3 weeks we will sit down and do our IPS ( In person sales) this is where you get to see your images for the first time and choose which ones you want printed. At the IPS it is very important that all members who makes the decisions on these images are present. I will show you all my print products that you can choose from and help you build a gallery wall. After you choose your images, I will prepare them for order and get them ordered within 24-48 hours. It has been running about 14-20 days to get my prints back from my professional lab, so on average from the date of our session to delivery of your prints, it takes about 4 weeks.

What locations do you do sessions at?

I choose locations base on what type of session you want. I have photographed, all through out downtown Daegu, Apsan mountain, Camp Walker, Suesong lake, The river, and areas near my home. If you have an idea of a location , please feel free to let me know. For newborn, milestones and some children portraits, my in home studio is also available.

Payments & Retainers.

A retainer is required to hold your date, your retainer is $100, for all sessions.  Your retainer is non-refundable. This is non-negotiable. If we have to move your session date due to illness or rain, than we will.

Payment must be made in FULL for your session two weeks before our scheduled date. At the time of our IPS, if you want to choose extra items in addition to your package, you must pay for those ala carte items at the IPS. No ala carte items will be ordered without payment in full. I will send all invoices via email through paypal. If you need to pay with cash, we can do that as well.

I retain the right to cancel a session due to weather, illness or if you are late and do NOT get in touch with me. Communication is key. You can always get a hold of me either by phone or my message.

I also retain the right to cancel or postpone a session if client ( minor) is uncomfortable or not behaving. It is my job to photograph your family, as I am hired to do, but if behavior impedes me from doing my job, I will cancel that session and reschedule for a later date.

Your images will be digitally retouched, I automatically remove acne, scratches, bruises, etc.

If there is an area of your body that your uncomfortable with, please let me know before our session.
